I have been asked to include Cognos Impromptu and PowerPlay in a
report I am writing on BI-type tools for marketing campaigns, but I
know almost nothing about them. It looks like Impromptu is a
Report-generator, (although the Cognos talks about ReportsNet) and
PowerPlay is used to make Cubes - is that right ?

I would appreciate some guidance (a prompt response would be a big
help for my draft report due on Monday !)

Would it be accurate to say that Impromptu would be suitable for
printing reports of members in target populations and PowerPlay would
be suitable for doing 'What-If' or drill-downs or providing CRM detail
or histories for those members ?

I hope this question makes sense and look forward to some guidance
from an expert or two !
