Default Thought on SAS OLAP? - 07-01-2006 , 05:21 PM

I'm interested in thoughts on SAS OLAP/BI Server.

How does it stack up on performance, throughput, and ease-of use? What's
the maximum number of elements in a cube dimension? How well does it handle
deep dimension hierarchies including drill-down and roll-up? Does it
precompute summaries and if so, how much does the size explode and how's
build time? Does throughput scale as you add CPUs to an SMP machine and if
you're using multi-core chips? Is performance the same on Windows and
Linux? How's the server on handling multiple, simultaneous computations.

I'd especially like to hear about direct experiences with larger databases.

Thanks very much for any guidance.

Seth
