The IBM Cognos TM1 development team is looking for a strong senior-
level engineer with significant experience in designing and developing
enterprise-scale software products. In addition to advanced skills in
software design & development, the position also requires particular
strength in database engine internals and multi-dimensional databases.

IBM Cognos TM1 software provides a real-time approach to
consolidating, viewing, and editing enormous volumes of
multidimensional data. Using a patented, 64-bit, in-memory OLAP
server, IBM Cognos TM1 has a proven track record supporting financial
performance management.

The Challenge
* Play a lead role in the architecture and design of OLAP features for
the TM1 multi-dimensional database engine.
* Substantial level of hands-on development will be required.

Your Expertise
* 8+ years experience with software development in software product
companies
* Previous experience in a technical lead role on significant
projects, including responsibility for architecture and design of an
enterprise-scale software product
* Expert-level understanding of OLAP concepts, standards and
interfaces such as MDX, ODBO, XMLA, ADOMD.NET
* Previous development experience in the internals of a multi-
dimensional query engine is strongly desired
* Significant experience in C++ development, with strong
specification, design & development skills
* Strong understanding of concurrency control, locking, multi-threaded
designs and their impact on performance, concurrency and scalability
* Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures used in
databases, including transaction management, cache management,
hashing, indexing, and memory management
* Experience with Windows and Unix platforms
* Strong communication, organization and inter-personal skills are
essential.
* Ability to work in tight deadline, high-pressure situations
