Overview
This position is for a Business Analyst with extremely strong
analytical skills reporting into the Business Intelligence
organization. This role will be a business liaison between business
departments and Business Intelligence, and also between other
application development teams and BI. This role is expected to forge
strong working relationships between business clients and technology
groups in support of various applications. Duties include helping lead
business process discussions, requirements, and functional design
gathering (elicitation, documentation, and management); identifying
disparate and overlapping current and future state workflows; and
evaluating solutions that most effective meet business needs.
Applicants must be flexible enough to grasp new business paradigms
quickly, and should be an “out-of-the-box” thinker when necessary.
Requirements
• 5+ years in a Business Analyst role gathering and documenting
business requirements, and assessing their impact on the existing
application landscape in a commercial business environment
• Experience working for an IT organization / department
• Intimate familiarity with the SDLC and application release
management
• Expertise with MS Word, Project, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
• Experience working as a Business Intelligence Business Analyst is
highly desirable
• Excellent problem-solving skills, and experience interacting with
all levels of technical and non-technical staff
• SME in issue resolution
• Experience defining project scope and technical specifications,
facilitate the collection of technical, operational or business
requirements, and set milestones to successful completion
• A high level of business expertise, able to multi-task, be pro-
active in project planning and requirements gathering, set and
maintain multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with people
regardless of their technical skill set
Primary responsibilities
• Become a SME on business processes and workflows, and existing
reports
• Facilitate meetings with clients to determine and prioritize their
business requirements, and the impact of these requirements on
existing applications and workflows
• Elicit, organize, communicate, and track requirements throughout the
SDLC
• Work with the Business Intelligence team and application development
team to translate business requirements into a viable solution
• Develop test plans and facilitate system testing
• Coordinate UAT
• Plan, schedule and manage all tasks related to business analysis and
participate in change control management, and risk mitigation
activities
• As SME in issue resolution, assist with the identification and
communication of high level technical constraints for the solution |
