Default ORACLE EXPRESS CONTRACT ENGAGEMENT (7 SEP 03) - 09-07-2003 , 02:56 PM

This engagement is in the Harrisburgh, PA area with a start date of
mid to late September, and an estimated duration of 2-3 months.

Environment
The client is and has been an Express Infoscan shop for several years,
and is currently in the process of moving this system and database to
an off site time-sharing service.

Several custom sales and marketing applications and tools will also be
moved.

The work will include modifying these applications and tools,
migrating them to the off-site service, testing to insure they will
operate properly, and project managing the entire activity.

A majority of these applications are Express extracts that run on the
server side (Unix), and the selection parameters run through Express
Web Agent. The extracts are loaded into an Excel front-end with a lot
of heavily customized VBA code.

The FTP process being used to get the extract files from Unix servers
to the client PC are also handled with Excel/VBA code. This process is
the same throughout every application. We estimate this will account
for about 60% of the work.

Another task will be working/liaising with the off-site service to
project manage this activity, test and validate the migration, insure
the off-site service stays on track with the client's time lines, and
insure any new development will work properly on the new service.

Note: the off-site service will handle configuration on their end, and
develop some code which the consultant will test to insure
workability. We estimate this will account for about 40% of the work.

The time-sharing service is expected to be up around the middle of
December 03. A full production roll out is expected around mid March
03, with parallel running for a while before the internal system is
turned off.

The consultant will be required to be on site for this engagement.

Requirements
Project management experience, experience with mainframe Express,
Excel, VBA, and Oracle Sales Analyzer. Also experience integrating
information from retailers or syndicated information source such as
IRI, internal factory shipment data from SAP, and promotion data from
Siebel.
An ideal consultant would be someone who would be interested in a
contract-to-hire option, but this does not preclude a qualified
consultant who may have no interest in a hire option.

Compensation is $70/hour plus travel and living expenses.
