I recently had a demo of Databeacon's new OLAP analysis tool. They
were all excited because it's a .NET smart client and supports
no-touch deployment. Anyone have an opinion as to whether that's
valuable? I hear Microsoft's pushing it, but should I be paying more
attention?

Isn't it written in Java? Why would MS push it if that was the case?
