Default MS OLAP and Writeback - 11-05-2003 , 09:02 PM

I want to build a budgeting cube for write back but when I have a cube
with dimensions other than Star Schema, consolidated values return
errors (#ERR)!

Using Star Schema is very limiting since you can’t write back to the
dimension or change the dimension using MDX like the Parent-Child
dimension.

I can get the consolidations to calculate once I partition the write
back data but I can’t do that all the time while users are entering
numbers. Users want to see the consolidated results as they do their
data entry.

I have MS OLAP 2000 SP3a.

Any one got any ideas or experience on this?

David

O2OLAP can help you with this type of solution. We use an approach that
works and has been optimised for efficiency within the MS AS environment. We
will demo this online if need be.

One of our main focuses has been for budgeting, forecasting and data capture
solutions. We have included very simple, but effective, functionality to
cater for these types solutions. This has also been confirmed from various
users converting from other OLAP environments to the AS and O2OLAP
environments
