We are looking for a Manager of Decision Support for a major client
located in Philadelphia. The client is a global provider of
intelligence combining industry expertise with innovative technology
to deliver critical information to leading decision makers in the
financial, legal, tax and accounting, scientific, healthcare, and
media markets.

Overview
This position reports to the Director, Decision Support to provide
project management expertise in support of key business initiatives.
This role supports the analysis and validation of business and
financial data reported across the organization; monitors and reports
on key performance metrics across the business and will help support
recommendations to senior finance on both strategic and tactical
issues as well as provide counsel and support to business units and
department operations.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Work closely with the strategy team; ensure consistency and
commonality across the entire finance function
Apply knowledge of external global economic factors to ensure
optimization of financial opportunities
Assist in ensuring that business decisions make good business sense
and are based on the appropriate level of financial analysis
Assist in gathering, preparing, and analyzing large amounts of data;
provide recommendations and suggest alternative actions
Challenge strategic concepts and validate the financial assumptions
and information which form the basis for synergies
Work closely with business stakeholders to develop, test and
validate critical assumptions including revenue and expense
projections for the core businesses as well as potential synergies
Develop supporting documentation to aid investment decisions by a
steering committee
Support development of consistent opportunity analysis frameworks
and repository
Perform financial modeling on strategic analysis for senior
management as needed
Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time
Qualifications
Bachelors degree (required) in finance, accounting, business
management. Applicants with an MBA or MBA in progress are strongly
preferred
At least 5 years of progressive development and experience in
applicable business roles with strong experience in financial
analysis, financial modeling, planning, forecasting and management
reporting
Power user in Excel and PowerPoint
Proven ability to think and act strategically with the ability to
formulate and evaluate strategic business cases; articulating concise
messages to executive management, including financial data and metrics
Ability to build strong trusted working relationships with internal
and external business customers and executive level management;
influencing without authority
Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment,
discretion and decision making to achieve organizational objectives;
able to problem solve and facilitate solutions with limited direction
Exceptional written and verbal communication/presentation skills
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple
projects with competing demands for resources |
