Overview
The Lead Business Analyst has the most advanced practitioner role
within the BA Group. The BA Group is responsible for championing the
interests and objectives of business owners with IT. A BA identifies,
designs, and facilitates the application of technology in support of
business processes.

Candidates must be able to communicate with business owners, users, and
IT professionals with equal east to create and preserve the functional
integrity of the solution. Incumbents must have complete familiarity
with the BI technologies and applications available within the
corporate environment, and a deep understanding of the businesses they
support.

Excellent analytical skills and the ability to operate in a team
environment are essential, as are outstanding documentation,
presentation, and interpersonal skills.

A Lead BA will also be expected to mentor and direct the work of other
business analysts on their team. BI specialists must be able to
ascertain the decision making process among business managers, and
derive the information, presentation, and context requirements that
support those processes. These requirements must be documented and
communicated in a manner conducive to the rapid development of BI
applications.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
· Work closely and interact directly with business owners and IT
staff to identify, rationalize, and document business requirements;
then design and document practical, useful, and cost effective
solutions in the form of functional specifications which become the
basis for development and testing
· Make process improvement and systems enhancement recommendations,
leveraging best practices and professional experience
· Obtain and maintain a deep understanding of source applications,
customers and businesses processes within the areas they support
· Maintain high levels of customer service at all times
· Conduct application design sessions and moderate other discussions
as necessary
· Work with project managers to communicate project status and issues
to business owners
· Work with project managers to manage individual work load and
assist with defining and prioritizing project tasks
· Work effectively on multiple assignments, activities or projects
· Collaborate closely with and assist application development teams
when required to ensure the functional integrity of project
deliverables
· Work with project teams to develop detailed specifications for
application functionality
· Serve as the functionality expert while actively participating in
testing, training, and user documentation development
· Manage the capture and maintenance of a library of model documents,
templates, best practices, and other re-usable knowledge assets
· Serve as subject matter expert in specific BI subject areas and
technologies
· Lead and mentor other Business Analysts as needed or required;
manage the peer review process within their team
· Assist with the knowledge management and employee development
processes within the group overall
· Drive the evolution of methods development (including EPL - -
client's homegrown SDLC methodology) and tools selection/adoption for
the group overall

Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, MIS/IT or Engineering;
advanced degree preferred
· Demonstrated leadership and management experience required in an IT
setting
· 8 or more years business of relevant business experience required
· Experience in conducting staff performance reviews preferred
· Experience with relevant software preferred, including Microsoft
Office applications, MS Project, Visio and business process modeling
(BPM) applications
· Formal development life cycle (SDLC) methodology experience
required

Compensation & Benefits
Starting salary is based on qualifications and experience. Compensation
includes an annual IT bonus (averages 10%). Relocation package for
qualified candidate.
