Default IWR Report Server - Disk Failure - 01-21-2004 , 06:20 PM

Our disk drive died, and we were able to backup most of the files (all
the reports, the shuttled, pending, etc)

But when we open the administrator, we get a blank. none of our
catalogues are listed in there.

I don't want to recreate all the catalogues and reports- does anyone
know how we can "import" them in there? The database that contains all
the "data" was not backed up, sicne it was in use during backup (bad
Network admin)

If anyone can help, PLEASE email. trying to get an answer from cognos,
but who knows?!!!

Could use a little more info...

I'm assuming you mean the the iwr*.db files were in use during the backup
therefore they have become corrupt. If this is the case I would attempt to
do a dsdump command from the /bin directory on the old set of db files.
Providing the corruption is not beyond repair this should make an xml dump
of the db files. You could then create a new set of .db files and perform a
dsload to attempt to recover the data. Probably your best shot at
recovery...cheers.

P.S.
You should be performing dsdump commands as part of a regular backup
procedure.
