Default Excel front-ends to MS SQL Server/Analysis Services - 05-15-2004 , 10:43 PM

Any views on the strengths/weaknesses of the various Excel front-ends
to MS SQL Server/Analysis Services: MIS Plain, O2OLAP, Xlcubed,BIXL,
IntellligentApps and possibly others? I am particularly interested in
knowing whether any of these products has an easy-to-use
non-procedural financial modelling rules language that is reasonably
"English-like" (eg, like the syntax of the financial modelling
packages of the late 1970s/1980s - IFPS, FCS-EPS,etc). Please email to
me directly (ofnap (AT) nus (DOT) edu.sg) if you think you need to include
marketing material that might be less appropriate for this newsgroup.
