Default Error (TR1901) Creating Cube - 06-16-2005 , 02:56 PM

I've been running a batch job to update my cube. Recently, the job
didn't seem to be updating the cube at all, so I tried to manually
re-create the cube in Transformer (version 7.0) and I get the following
error:

A rollup containing current data cannot be deleted (drill) in <cube
name>

I also get an error saying "the wrong ID stamp was detected on
<model>", but I figure if I save the model file after updating the
cube, this should go away. I'm not sure if the two errors are related
or not.

Any help will save the day!

It sounds like you are performing incremental updates...

If so, the model has become out of sync with the cube and you basically have
1 option, rebuild the cube from scratch and then begin incrementing again.
I would also suggest looking into your scripts / process to try and
determine what the cause was.

The scripts I run are pretty simple. I bcp tables from SQL Server to a
txt file on another server. Then I execute the transformer command to
create the cube from the txt data source. Lastly, I disable the cube
on the production server, copy the updated version over, and enable the
cube in production. It seems pretty cut and dry. Is there something
I'm leaving out that guarantees their synchronization? I use the -s
qualifier when running the trnsfrmr.exe command line command, isn't
that supposed to save the model?

When you have problems like this - search the Cognos knowledge base! I got
the same error due to a virus scanner...

Description:

The following error occurs when attempting to build a cube in
PowerPlay Transformer:

Error: TR1901 MDC(49) could not save file. (Bitmap) in <cube
path>

Solution:

This error message could be caused by corruption in the PYI file.
Sometimes this corruption can be cleaned up by saving the PYI file to an MDL
file and then opening the MDL model and saving it back to a PYI file. If
using MDL file, you may try saving it to a PYI file and back to an MDL file.

Follow these steps if using the PYI file for Transformer models:

1. Open the PYI file.

2. Save the model as an MDL file and close Transformer.

3. Open the MDL file in Transformer and save it as a PYI file.

4. Try building the cube again.

Follow these steps if using the MDL file for Transformer models:

1. Open the MDL file.

2. Save the model as a PYI file and close Transformer.

3. Open the PYI file in Transformer and save it as an MDL file.

4. Try building the cube again.
