I have a Win XP machine that I am trying to open Cognos Impromptu
reports on over a LAN. I am using Impromptu 6 and can open local
reports but whenever I open a report from the LAN I get the following
error:

DMS-E-YV_SGINOLIB, Unable to locate the gateway 'msdbaL.DLL'

Any assistance would be appreciated

Turns out that I had to install SQL client connectivity from the SQL
Server 2000 CD - works fine now.

Could be many things, Impromptu 6 is not supported on winXP for one.
Basically the error is telling you that Impromptu is unable to find the
connection software required for the database. It looks like you are
attempting to connect to MS Access or SQL Server, if that is the case, do
you have the proper odbc driver / native connection setup? I really believe
this is a lack of connectivity software somewhere but I would also contact
support and get an upgraded version of Impromptu.
