We are looking for a Director of Decision Support for a major client
located in Philadelphia. The client is a global provider of
intelligence combining industry expertise with innovative technology
to deliver critical information to leading decision makers in the
financial, legal, tax and accounting, scientific, healthcare, and
media markets.

Overview
The position reports to the VP of FP&A to provide leadership in the
analysis and validation of business and financial data reported across
the clients organization.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
recommending responses to information/trends that indicate proactive
or correction action;
manage, monitor and report on key performance metrics across the
business;
provide recommendations to senior finance on both strategic and
tactical issues, and provide counsel and support to business units,
department operations, and project management expertise in support of
key business initiatives
ensure business decisions make good business sense and are based on
the appropriate level of financial analysis
work closely with the VP of FP&A to develop the process, analytics,
and monitor dashboards by which initiatives are tracked and monitored
gather and prepare financial information and other data for senior
management, including providing recommendations and suggesting
alternative actions
review financial assumptions and estimates to ensure they are
reasonable and accurate
monitor revenue and other global financial indices closely to
identify or to anticipate shortfalls or other shifts in the business
which require corrective action
apply knowledge of external global economic factors to ensure
optimization of financial opportunities
prepare financial analysis, reports and other tools to measure
performance against current strategy and provide interpretation
drive process improvements through identifying and leveraging best
practices across the organization
challenge strategic concepts and validate the financial assumptions
and information which form the basis for strategies
Qualifications
7 10 years experience
Masters degree (required) in finance, accounting, economics,
mathematics, statistics, business management or a related field
At least 7 years progressive development and experience in
applicable business roles: candidates with robust financial modeling
experience with proven financial analysis and/or project management
experience; candidates with valuation analysis skills, strongly
preferred
At least 3 years of personnel management experience
Ability to articulate concise messages to executive management,
including financial data and metrics
Ability to build strong trusted working relationships with internal
and external business customers and executive level management;
influencing without authority
Strong leadership and teaming capabilities with the ability to
operate independently, affect change across functions, and have a
track record of delivered results
Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment,
discretion and decision making to achieve organizational objectives;
with an ability to problem solve and facilitate solutions with limited
direction
Exceptional written and verbal communication/presentation skills
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects/work stream
simultaneously; and travel required up to 25% |
