Default dimension of Transformer - 08-03-2005 , 08:57 AM

I am building a data cube by using Cognos Transformer. But the
tansactional data are in different levels. For example, one
trasactional data is from region A who only has several branch, and
another one is from region B who has serveral branch and ervery branch
has sub-branch.We need build cube that can drill down to sub-branch for
B and for A we only can drill down to branch level. Can Cognos do this?
How to handle this situation? I try to do it by using subdimension, but
how to deal with the transactional data?

For A,data structure is: region_id,branch_id,sale.
For B is region_id,branch_id,sub_branch_id,sale.

which source data field (sale) should I put into measures?

Please give some advice! I will appreciate your help!

Why not contact Cognos Support. That's a pretty simple problem that is
easily answered by the Vendor.

In essence you'll create a dummy level between Region and Branch for
DataSource-A. All data has to be brought in at the same lowest level
but the intermediate levels can be collapsed into a ragged hierarchy.
