Default Data Warehousing vs RUP and Service Domains - 02-02-2004 , 06:17 PM

Hi,
I'm trying to see how a data warehouse fits within a service domain
architecture (Rational's RUP/etc), specifically the question is can a
data warehouse be considered a domain by itself. If not, e.g. if the
data is really "owned" by some other domain, then how can we best
describe the data warehouse in service domain architecture? I'd
appreciate anyone's thoughts on this topic or if you can point me to
some documentation that would be great too.

Thanks,
mohsen

Joseph Firestone has written a number of papers on integrating data
warehousing and object-oriented design methodologies. A new Google
search shows that his site, http://www.dkms.com, has stopped providing
these papers for free, but now charges a nominal fee for a collection.

I'd be interested to know if anyone else has read these and what
opinions you may have.

Regards,
Paul
