Hello All,
We have centralized Data Warehouse that feeds to focus oriented Data
Marts. Over the period, our Data Warehouse has become reliable and
accurate source for information. With this in mind, we plan to provide
this feed directly to new applications rather than those applications
going against diverse operational data sources.
For example, we recently introduced a content personalization on our
website based on the frequency of customer transactions. The DW was
used as source for this
instead of the mainframe databases. Is this a good idea? What are pros
and cons please suggest?
