2. What are the gain and pain you get?

The gain is build performance as you only have to build the latest time
based partition. You can also modify the virtual cube file to state which
cubes you want to rebuild if you happen to recieve more data.

The pain is that it is similar to incremental updates so you have to ensure
that only new data is added to the cube otherwise your numbers will be
thrown off. Cheers.
