Default Cognos Configuration Encryption Error - 09-12-2006 , 03:32 PM

Hello Friends,
I have a problem which I am not able to understand.
The thing is that I have a cognos configuration which I have to
configure in my company. Now whenever I configure the content store
with the MS SQL Server and try to save it no matter what it gives
encryption failure. This sucks actually big time.
Could someone suggest which value box I should change specifically so
that data encrption error goes.
Thanks
Nitin

A couple of items to check...
1- Active version of jre on the machine, go to a command prompt and type
"java -version" to test this. You will want 1.3 or higher
2- Delete the encryptkeypair, signkeypair and csk directories from within
<install location>\configuration and try again
3- Finally, if neither of the above work, try step 2 again but this time
remove the cogstartup.xml file (make a backup first). You will need to
input all of your credentials again in Cognos Configuration but it may get
you over the hump. Cheers
