Default Business Objects Products - Need Advice - 02-04-2007 , 04:39 PM

BO website is so screwed up. I have been through their site and
cannot figure out what products I need. Is this done on purpose or
something? I am confused now with Crystal being absorbed. Is there
no longer a BO report design tool? Is it all called Crystal Reports?

This is what I need to do:
Set up a Business Objects Application Server
Set up a Business Objects Universe
Allow Ad Hoc reporting.
Allow the creation, publication, and scheduling of standard reports.

Can someone tell me what I need to buy - site references if you could.

Thanks big time in advance!

Bob

Pic your poison, there are basically 2 options for all types of development
and deployment. On the lower cost side you have Crystal Decisions. On the
other side you have Webi and BO thick client. You may want to call BO and
speak with a presales rep (not account rep) to get the skinny. They are the
technical side of the sales arm and tend to have a better understanding of
what will be required in your environment. Cheers
