Hi,
Just choice the time field as dimension. It doesn't matter if the
datafield is in a fact or dimension table. You even can add the
datefield as measure if needed for some solutions.

I am trying to create a Timecard OLAP cube with Analysis Services. The
data source that I am using provides two tables. One table provides
account information such as company, employee name, etc. The other
table contains timecard info such as the number of hours, the project
number, the employee name, and the date. I am using the timecard table
as the fact table with the number of hours as the measure. Is there a
way to use the date as a time dimension event though it resides in the
fact table rather than a dimension table? I have created a cube using
Microsoft Query with this same table structure without a problem. Can
someone tell me how to accomplish this using Analysis Services? |
