Default Analysis Services and Excel - 07-30-2004 , 09:42 AM

I'm using Microsoft OLAP Pivot tables in Excel (2002, 2003) to access
an analysis services cube. The data associated in my dimension
selection values does not refresh when I click the refresh bottom
(time dimension data changing hourly). The data is stale until I close
and reopen the spreadsheet. Is this a know limitation when using Excel
to access an analysis services cube? I've tried refreshing the data
and refreshing the connection. The dimension data does not refresh
using the refresh options.

Any help or ideas will be appreciated.

Dan

Yes, dimension data won't change on refresh - only measure values will.

Thank you. So, it sounds like closing the speadsheet and reopening the
speadsheet is the only way to refresh the dimension data.
