Default OO extraction from Hierarchical data model - 07-31-2003 , 06:38 AM

Hi All,

Can anyone guide me how to extract object Oriented features from
traditional hierarchical data model. I mean to say mapping of Hierarchical to
OO data Model.

Hi:

Traditional hierarchical data models don't have any OO features; they have no behavior. Just because a Class hierarchy and a hierarchical data model are both hierarchical does not imply that they have other traits in common. Data and objects are orthogonal.

See "Object-Oriented Design" by Rebecca Wirfs-Brock, et al. for a "full" explanation. ;-)
