Default Object-oriented database with Java AND C-Sharp API? - 05-29-2006 , 09:09 AM

Hi Folks--

does anybody know of a (robust) OODB with both, Java and C# APIs?

We've got several client applications, mostly written in Java and some
also in C#, that should operate on the same database.

Would be nice if the database runs on Linux, but Windows would work as
well.

Any suggestions???

Thanks,
Mike

If you want an object database that you can access both
with Java and C# at the same time, I think there is hardly
any alternative to db4o:

http://www.db4o.com

Make sure to evaluate the lastest (5.4) version. It provides
functionality to create class aliases so you can map Java
classes to C# classes.

Best,
Carl

Take a look at Caché by Intersystems at www.intersystems.com

You might want to take a look at the Enabler ODBS by Fujitsu EST, it
has both, APIs for .Net and Java (as well as WebDAV and others):

http://software.fujitsu.de/en/produc...epository.html
(Enabler 7.0 features)

http://software.fujitsu.de/ctstatic/...S_Enabler7.pdf
(Enabler Repository fact sheet)

A free trial is available, though you'll have to fill out this form on
the website in order to receive a CD:
