I can't find a site that will help me even get started with the bare basics. I have installed on my windows 7 home premium 64 bit, mysql version 6.0. |

I can't find a site that will help me even get started with the bare basics. One site did show how to enter services.msc and setup things on the logon tab. Just one catch, I get an error and can't go any further. |

Why don't you go to the source? http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.5/en/tutorial.html I have installed on my windows 7 home premium 64 bit, mysql version 6.0. There is no MySQL 6.0. Maybe you mean 5.0? XL |

http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/6.0.html in the url it says 6.0 |
|
Posts like this: http://www.markleith.co.uk/?p=245 show there was something like version 6.0 |
|
(and, of course, the link that Eric posted) http://ftp.ku.ac.th/pub/mirror/mysql.../tutorial.html |

How about that: http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/7.0.html Here it says 7.0! http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/10.0.html 10.0 even! http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql...tion_fast.html MySQL Proxy going to rule the world? Posts like this: http://www.markleith.co.uk/?p=245 show there was something like version 6.0 Once upon a time, long long ago there was a plan to call the next major MySQL release after 5.1 "MySQL 6.0". Obviously plans have changed. After 5.1 came 5.5. And after 5.5 we will have 5.6. There will eventually be a 6.0 one day. But not today. (and, of course, the link that Eric posted) http://ftp.ku.ac.th/pub/mirror/mysql.../tutorial.html Except you rely on some seriously out-of-date mirror and install an alpha version from the dark ages. So I stand corrected: yes, you can download a stale MySQL 6.0 from some mirrors. Most fresh (haha) release would be 6.0.11-alpha from May 2009. You really would not want to use that. XL |

I have installed on my windows 7 home premium 64 bit, mysql version 6.0. Like one site said, "now what?". If I can't get beyond the initial password, how the hell am I supposed to use it? |
