Tony, yes, the article is not well-written, and it's hard to separate
html from transport. But then to someone unfamiliar with utf-8, the
whole subject is confusing.

It's Wikipedia. If you can write it better, then do it.

I don't have the time nor the the desire to try to rewrite wikipedia.
I've found it to be of limited use anyway. You can find essentially the
same information that's in Wikipedia in any number of places, and other
places are much more reliable.

But honestly, I doubt you can do it better. Or that you ever will
write it better. Because that's harder than trolling in usenet.
Which is actually the only thing I've seen from you so far.

You wouldn't know anyway. You think Wikipedia is the greatest thing
since sliced bread.

But the good side is, once you get familiar enough with it, it does
become easier. However, it seems some people forget what it's like to
be starting out.

It's not that he hadn't got enough hints where things are explained.
Also some basic knowledge about Unicode, i.e. the difference between
a code point and an encoding sequence, is a requirement for anybody
who has to deal with multilingual HTML.

It's just that you're a stoopid arse who doesn't understand the real
world - as you have shown once again. No wonder MySQL is such a shitty
product, if they let you work there. I'm surprised Oracle hasn't fired
you yet - they normally don't let incompetent fools last this long.

So how to decide if that third byte represents a 1-byte character
or is the first byte of a multibyte sequence?
A fourth byte will solve this dilemma ;-) It is turtles all the way down ...
