NOTE: We have no windows domain set up. SETUP: ======== I have set up SQL server agent mail. Sql server and Sql Server Agent each logon with the same local account: SqlServerAdmin. The SqlServerAdmin account has Administrative priveleges. I have set up a mail profile for the SqlServerAdmin acct. There is a corresponding SqlServerAdmin account on our Exchange server. PROBLEM: ========= I must login as SqlServerAdmin before agent emails can be sent. I login as, say, Administrator, find an operator in enterprise manager, hit the Test Email button, but no email is sent until I then login as SqlServerAdmin and load Outlook. (I do keep Outlook running while logged in as Administrator). QUESTIONS: ========== How do I solve this? Must I set up a domain? Our one man IT dept is terrified of windows domains. Thanks for any help! Felix |
