Default LogReader Agent Lacks Required Privilege - 05-12-2006 , 02:28 PM

I'm using our dev ID to set up peer-to-peer replication among three SQL
Server 2005 servers. The dev ID essentially has sa rights to the server
and databases. Per the BOL, I explicitly gave the login db_owner rights
to both the distributor and publication databases. Nevertheless, the
LogReader agent fails with the following error message:

Executed as user: mydom\sqldev. A required privilege is not held by the
client. The step failed.

The SQLAgentManger on each of the three boxes also runs with the sqldev
ID. Anybody have any idea what the "required privilege" is that the
LogReader agent is missing?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Randy
