Default What major issues with converting 2000 to 2010? - 07-21-2011 , 11:10 PM

This has been put off for too long, but now I have to convert a 2000
application to 2010.

The database comprises multiple front-ends and multiple back-end, references
a couple of library MDE files of code, has no macros all code, many many
queries, forms and reports. It is installed as MDE files linking to the
multiple back-ends.

User level security is used and I know that has to change, as well as custom
toolbars and menus.

Would like to know from anybody that has done this what problems you may
have encountered.

If you use the 32 bit Access, I found no major problems other than the ones
you mentioned. Did have a bit of a problem with getting MSCOMCTL.Dll to work
if you are using that. Go for it, and then come back with any problems that
you can't resolve. Phil

You can continue to use ULS so long as you continue to use the MDB
file format.

Those will work as well although you can convert them to the ribbon if
desired. There is a trick to getting rid of the ribbon completely
for the users.

Shouldn't be too bad but as with every such conversion thorough
testing is required.
