Default using 2003 in 2007 some dates have calendar control some don't - 07-25-2011 , 08:26 AM

These are old databases and were not build with any type of control on
date fields.
but some of them show a calendar control beside them and some do not.
does anyone know why?
Is there a way to make it show the calendar?
I wish it would not show but once they saw it on one they now want it
on others.

There's a text box property called "Show Date Picker", check this and
also check that the underlying field type is DateTime if the property is
set to "For Dates"

If you do NOT set the format of the control to date, then the date picker
does not show.

So, setting the format of the text box on the form to short date, or
whatever you typically use.

If even for un-bound controls, if you set the format to date, then you get
the date picker.

There is also a setting on the "format" tab of the properties sheet - it is
called

Show date picker: (two choices are "For Dates" or "Never").

So, you can check the above setting, but I not sure it actually exists in
2003, but I am able to see/set this when opening a 2003 database with 2010,
so check this also.

Quite sure, your issue is first one above - with format of date, you see
date picker.

Thanks everyone got me looking and trying something in the right area.
It turned out they had an input mask and it will not work with it.

Hi Sparks

In the property settings of the date fields, check each one to see what the
setting is:

ShowDatePicker, there are two options.

a. Never
b. For Dates
