Default totals in sub data sheet - 03-10-2011 , 03:29 PM

I have Totals rows in both parent and child data sheets. (Access 2007)

Parent Totals row displays fine, giving the * for new record.

Child records give the * for new records but since only a single line
is displayed (on the initial empty child record set), when you attempt
to enter a new record it grabs the Totals row.

Essentially - when a user opens up the sub data sheet by clicking on
the plus sign he sees one blank row with an asterix. When he attempts
to enter in that new line and clicks on the first field - he gets the
bold 'Totals' text - ie. wrong line!

To go from there to find the actual initial new record he needs to pg
or cursor up!

Am I the only one who's experiencing this?

I solved this problem by using the sub data sheet as a Single Form and
telling the parent form Sub-data-sheet height 10" so it will expand or
contract based on the number of records. The form's footer has the
calculated Sum.
