Default Totals control not filling in A97 - 01-22-2009 , 12:39 PM

We have a problem where, for example, on a "Continuous Forms" form we
have a control on the footer like

=Sum([Value])

and it shows as blank (permanently or sometimes I think it may fill
after a long while)

This is machine specific - the same software on other machines are fine.

On a machine exhibiting this problem, I have noticed that the same
happens with the record count at the bottom of a query - it remains
blank till the current record is the last record.

Anyone know what is going on and what I can do to force the control to
show the total?

This is happening on XP but I think we have had this problem a long time
ago on W2K.

Does something like
Me.YourFieldName.Requery
work?

Either requery the control or refresh the form.

I have tried both. I have even put a button on the form to do a requery
but to no avail.

It just seems to populate the control very slowly where "very slowly"
can be anything from 20/30 seconds to never.
