Syntax Error with Column Head Dropdown Filter -

I have an Access 2000 FE/BE that was converted to Access 2007 and has been
working fine. Client now wants to use with 2010. Most everything works ok in
2010 after reworking ribbons. One problem is the dropdown arrow on the
column heads of datasheet forms. If the field name contains a space (not my
design), as soon as one clicks on the arrow, it generates the error 'Syntax
error (missing operator) in query explression 'fieldname'. After closing the
message box, the sort/filter works ok, except the list of values with
checkboxes does not appear. The only workaround I have found is to trap the
error in the form error event so user doesn't see it. The problem can easily
be duplicated by creating a simple query based on a table with spaces in
field names. The same thing happens. Although it does not if opening the
table directly. Has anyone else seen this? Any other suggestions?
