Default Subform appears to "reset" when control clicked - 06-28-2011 , 09:05 AM

I have an Access 2010 subform with 3 comboboxes, 3 textboxes, and 2 checkboxes. The first control I click on, whether it's a combo or text, causes the subform to appear to reset. If I click on a combobox, the list drops down then it immediately disappears and I have to click it again to get the list to drop down again. I'm then able to make a selection. The textboxes have a date input mask. When clicking in a textbox, the mask appears briefly, then disappears. I have to click in it again. Once I've clicked 2 times, then I can proceed with data entry with no problem. The only controls that don't require 2 clicks are the checkboxes.

Once this behavior has happened with one of the combo's or textboxes, it does not happen again with another control. It's just the first control that's clicked on that the behavior happens.

This behavior does not happen on existing records, only new.

All combo's and textboxes have BeforeUpdate and AfterUpdate events. The only coded event for the form is the Delete event.

Any idea as to why this behavior is happening? Thanks for any help or advice.

(I apologize if this post appears twice. I posted it yesterday but it hasn't appeared on the group as of yet)

Hmm.... let me check... You appear to be correct ... neither of your
posts (nor the reply posted to your original) show up in Google Groups.
I am using Outlook Express as a newsreader and eternal-september.org as
news server. I find using NNTP access to USENET newsgroups much more
satisfactory than using one of the web interfaces.

If you need to use a web interface, I see that your posts are appearing
under the "General 1" forum on Utter Access:

The reply you received:

Have you checked in the main form, most likely the subform control (as

opposed to the subform itself) for coding that could be causing this?

HTH!
