I, as always, completely disagree, because of the fact that so
many of the UI components within Access present a combined list
of tables and queries. With any large number of tables and
queries, it can get quite confusing very fast.

So what? Mind you when I think about it tables usually have
shorter names without spaces and queries have longer names with
spaces.

I should have added that the above is what I do.
The ex cathedra declaration was a bit confusing, but it was clear
what you meant.

But I would never use spaces in object names for any purpose
whatsoever.

(it just occured to me that I wonder what happens with the
non-breaking space, ANSI code 0160? I don't know if Jet/ACE treats
that as a special character and needs brackets, but if it doesn't,
you could use it to get the cosmetic spacing without it requiring
brackets. It would also confuse the hell out of anybody trying to
use to your objects by name who didn't know the secret...)

Another thing I do is use prefixes other than tbl for tables, such
tlu (lookup tables) and tmp. These group tables by function within
the list of tables, and that's extremely useful (I shudder every
time I go back to an app from before I started using tlu, for
instance, with all those tiny little tables that I don't use very
often mixed in with the real data tables).

That's probably somewhat reasonable and I've been thinking about
that a bit recently.

Ha! A minuscule crack in the wall opens just the slightest bit! I
shall keep pummelling the wall each time I get the opportunity!
Hehehe
