Default Sizing problem with picture in BoundObject control - 06-17-2010 , 06:37 AM

MS Access 2002 SP3/SQL Express

My client has a form with a BoundObject control on it whose control
source is an Image column in a SQL Server database. Today, she tried
to add a new picture to a record and it's not working correctly - the
picture is distorted and shows the title of it, whereas on my system
it works correctly.

This is a screen grab from the client's machine:

Prior to today (although she hasn't tried it for a few weeks or
months) the picture upload worked correctly. Also, if she loads an
existing record with a picture it displays correctly - it's only
today's picture that doesn't. We are both using exactly the same
file. I've checked the properties for the BoundObject control and
they are the same - particularly SizeMode = Stretch

The only difference of which I'm aware is that I'm running MS Access
2003 but that doesn't explain why this USED to work for her when
adding new pictures, and STILL works for her when loading existing
records.

Thanks

Edward

It's got quite weird. The Access app is hosted on a terminal server,
so in the end I logged in remotely and I was able to upload the
picture correctly! So here we have two users, both using the same
application, sitting on the same record on the same back-end,
uploading the same picture, with two different outcomes. The ONLY
difference is that I'm accessing the system via a desktop PC via an
RDP, whereas the client is accessing the system over the LAN.

Thoughts?

Edward

I doubt that there was a spontaneous change. More than likely, someone was
fiddling around in design view. Send her a copy of the front-end from your
machine, saved as an MDE, and I doubt she'll ever have the problem again.
