Default Reports in book format - 11-11-2011 , 05:05 PM

I want to produce a continuous report on A4 paper landscape in 2 columns so
that it can be published as a book. The half pages (A5 size) themselves
consist of exactly 6 records of a continuous report sorted alphabetically by
name.

Page numbering must be correct so that a simple 1 double sided "book" would
have Front Back
Left Right Left Right
Sheet 1 Page 2 Page 3 Page 4 Page 1

and a 2 double sided "book" would have
Sheet 1 Page 2 Page 7 Page 8 Page 1
Sheet 2 Page 4 Page 5 Page 6 Page 3

Any ideas where to start
a) to get the continous form to print in the right order as the records need
to jump around so that the book is alphbelical
b) to get the page numbrting right. This page number is fed back to the
underlying record to produce an index and to number each account according to
it's position in the book.

Thanks

Phil

Have a look at an outstanding printing app called ClickBook:

http://www.bluesquirrel.com/products/clickbook/

It should be able to do exactly what you want.

Thanks Arvin

looks impressive, but I don't think it will feed back the page number to
Access. I need to hold these page numbers against each record for quick
reference, and also to generate an index

I think what you need to do, is create the report in Access, including the
page numbers. ClickBook will then format the printing as a duplex print job.
