I can append the entire source table but can't use the copy and paste or paste-append commands to add just 1 or a few records. Error msg says "data too long for field." ?? Did you select the record before pasting? select the record using the selector on the left otherwise it pastes everything into one field. 2. Relationships Parent table with 3-field primary key, child table with 4-field primary of which first 3 are same as parent's. I want to relate parent to child on these 3 fields, one-to-many. Also Enforce Referential Integrity, Cascade Delete Related Fields, and Join Type 2 [ Include all parent records and only those child records where joined fields are equal.] I can only do this when the child table is empty. With even 1 record, error msg says the child violates ref. integrity. I've verified that the 1 record has a record in parent that exists for the 3 key fields in parent. a) ?? b) Can Access identify and/or delete violations itself? Can I open a table and append-from another table? Try copying the record to another table, delete it, create the relationship then re-insert the record. \|||/ / \ C o o D -----------------ooO--u--Ooo------------------------------- To reply my mail, replace the "nospam" in my address with "trevor", this was put on in defence of the spam robots that roam usenet.
