Default primary key problem - 01-14-2009 , 08:01 AM

Hi,

in a ac2003DB occurs next problem. On a head-sub form and when they do
delete a record in the subform the primary key suddenly will be removed of
the table based on the form.
the Db is recently updated from 2000 to 2003 and before there was no problem
at all !
Is this a wellknow bug or is there somethings others happening ? How to
prevent this but after the key is removed, the subform is no longer
updatetable !

kindley regards Georg

question: How is the record being deleted? Is the user selecting the
record from a datasheet subform and physically deleting it? Or is the
record being displayed in text fields on the form and the user deletes
the record using a Button on the form which uses VBA code?

If the user is deleting the records directly from a datasheet subform --
there is really no connectin between that and the primary key of the
table the record is being deleted from.

Hi Rich

as a mather of fact they do as you descibe. It's as simply as it is. The
clou of the story is that is not allways happening. somethimes we can delete
from the subform without losing our primary key!
strange problem .
kindly regards, Georg
