I get this error "connection with the ole server was lost....." when
trying to open a query as a pivot table. this happens even if I use a
table with only 5 simple fields.

this occurs only on this client windows xp system.

On my home vista, I can create pivot tables without error.

Have searched the internet finding lots of people who have reported the
problem without resolution.

Yes I checked and OLE automation is included in my References and
stdole2.tlb is found in c:\windows\system32.

suggestions?
