When sorting and grouping in Access 97 reports (I know, I know, it was
inherited). Is there any way to separate the group from the sort in
the report? I want to group by Column A but sort the group by Column
B. Thank you for any replies!

In report design view, click on the sorting and grouping icon in the
reports toolbar.

Enter column A if not present, set your group header and footer options
as required, then enter column B
