Default Mial merge in unbound object frame - 09-06-2010 , 06:42 AM

I use an unbound objevt frame on a form to display word docs, excel sheets
etc

One of the documents is a mail merge doc which uses a different front end
database "Clubs2010MailMerge.Accdb" (copy of this database "Clubs
2010.accdb") Both have the same BE tables.

I have 2 problems.
1) When I go to the record that should display the sample mailmerge letter I
get an error "Word could not establish a DDE connection to Microsoft Access
to complete the current task". I click OK and this repeats 3 times and then
works OK. Task manager shows 4 copies of Access running (2 mentioned above +
2 that didn't work)

2)

Woops. Sent it before I'd finished this post.

2) The message box is concealed behind the Access form. The only way to find
it is through Task manager and bring Word to the front.

If I open the Word document directly I usually get the same error message. I
have to use a DDE connection as the query behind the mail merge letter
contains functions, and this query is not shown if I try to use any other
form of connection such as OLE or ODBC.

So why the DDE errors?
How do I get word to the front?
Thanks

Phil

Don't use DDE to connect to your data -- use ODBC instead.
