Default MAS90 Visual Integrator question - 03-23-2011 , 11:18 AM

Anybody working with Visual Integrator?

The process I am most interested in is exporting data from Access and
importing into MAS90.

Can one executed a script to update several tables?

Are there certain fields that can be updated, others not?

Any caveats?

It has been awhile, but there are a considerable number of fields in a
MAS90 that can't be updated externally. After all, it is an accounting
system. You are likely going to be limited to areas of Customers and the
like and no Deletes allowed either to maintain concurrency control. The
company I worked with didn't do any of the MAS90 stuff in house. They had
to have a MAS90 tech come to the site to provide the stubs (fields) that
were accessible through the ODBC driver. I don't know what the current
interface is, so my experience might not be helpful..

Thanks for your input.

I was doing some modification tests on some junk data. I changed the
zip code from a valid one to 55555. And it kept failing. I then
realized the zip code no longer matched the city and state name and
wouldn't update.

My recollection is that they discourage any access to the MAS90 without
using their field people's assistance (interference?)

That could be true. That way you don't inadvertantly mess things up.
