I'm having a problem with MS Access 2003 and its conditional formatting. I have textboxes on a continuous form whose left and right margins are set to 0.03 inches. Based on each textbox's current value, I set its background color. No problem with this part. My problem is that when clicking different text boxes representing the records on the continuous form, the left and the right margin areas do not always take on the background color set by the conditional formatting. They seem to refresh to some default background color. In other words, the left and the right margin areas of each textbox are set with some default background color, while only the middle area gets the conditional formatting color. If I set the margins to 0", the problem goes away. Is this a bug in Access 2003? Any workarounds would be helpful since I need the margins to remain at 0.03". Thanks. |

Robert, I've not observed that particular issue, but there certainly are bugs in the way Access 2003 handles internal margins in controls. Scrollbars fail. Size-to-fit doesn't work correctly. It would not be surprising if CF didn't work correctly either. You will probably find these issues are fixed in Access 2007, but AFAIK there's no fix for A2003. If you are desperate, you can fudge it by placing another text box behind your real one instead of using internal margins. The other text box would be unbound, larger, locked, not enabled, and conditionally formatted also. -- Allen Browne - Microsoft MVP. *Perth, Western Australia Tips for Access users -http://allenbrowne.com/tips.html Reply to group, rather than allenbrowne at mvps dot org. robertng90...
