Default Mailto & switch to Outlook - 10-12-2011 , 03:46 AM

Hi,

I have an Access 2003 DB where the Mailto function was working fine
when users were on Lotus Notes email system. The organisation recently
moved over to Outlook 2007 and it no loner works. I tested it off the
network on a PC that uses Thunderbird for email and the Mailto bit
worked perfectly.
In outlook the error I get is "Unknown messages recipients. Message
not sent"

Here is my proceedure:-
Dim strMsg As String
Dim StrBody As String

strMsg = " " & vbCrLf & vbCrLf _
& "A refund has been generated by " & Me.CmbActionOfficer.Column(1) &
". " & "The FMA has been sent in the internal mail. " & vbCrLf &
vbCrLf _
& "Please provide " & " " & Me.CmbActionOfficer.Column(1) & " " &
"with the SAP ref number once processed." & vbCrLf & vbCrLf _
& Forms!FrmLetterDetail!TxtTitle & " " & Forms!FrmLetterDetail!
TxtGName & " " & Forms!FrmLetterDetail!TxtFamilyName & " " & Forms!
FrmLetterDetail!TxtPostNoms & " " & vbCrLf _
& Forms!FrmLetterDetail!TxtAdd1 & vbCrLf _
& Forms!FrmLetterDetail!TxtAdd2 & vbCrLf _
& Forms!FrmLetterDetail!TxtAdd3 & " " & Forms!FrmLetterDetail!

& "Form No. :- " & Me.TxtFormNo & vbCrLf _
& "Recp No. :- " & Me.TxtReceipt & vbCrLf _
& "Date Rec. :- " & Me.TxtCashmanDate & vbCrLf _
& "Appvd By :- " & Me.CmbApprover.Column(1) & vbCrLf _
& " " & vbCrLf
'NB The last line must not have an underscore deliberately. The
underscore is a wrap text ie

DoCmd.SendObject , , , Me.CmbEmail.Column(2), Me.CmbEmailCC1.Column(2)
& ";" & " " & Me.CmbEmailCC2.Column(2), , "PPT Fee Refund - " & "(" &
Forms!FrmLetterDetail!TxtTitle & " " & Forms!FrmLetterDetail!TxtGName
& " " & Forms!FrmLetterDetail!TxtFamilyName & ")", strMsg, True
Me.TxtEmailSent = Date
'DoCmd.SendObject , ,

Exit_CmdEMail_Click:
Exit Sub

Just to follow up on above, the email address ar selected from 3
comboboxes depending on whether its the main recipient, CC1 or CC2
recipients.

The line it is baulking at is :-

Mailto: Me.CmbEmail.Column(2), Me.CmbEmailCC1.Column(2) & ";" & " " &
Me.CmbEmailCC2.Column(2), , "PPT Fee Refund - " & "(" & Forms!
FrmLetterDetail!TxtTitle & " " & Forms!FrmLetterDetail!TxtGName & "
" & Forms!FrmLetterDetail!TxtFamilyName & ")", strMsg, True

Could the problem be with the delimiter between the multiple email
addresses? Try using a comma instead of a semi-colon. There is also
an Outlook option to allow commas to separate multiple email
addresses.

Don't think so as it still doesnt work even when there is only one
email address selected in one of the three combo boxes.

I have found a work-around but I still would like to get a proper fix.
But here I might also advise that the 3 email combos are located on a
sub form - if that make any difference.

The work-around is to have an After Update Event in each combo box
that places the selected email address in to a hidden text box on the
same sub form. I have modified the code to look to the 3 hidden text
boxes and then it works.

The error I was getting earlier suggested a type mismatch and I
couildnt work that out - hence the development of the work-around.
