Strange issue with lock files. Database is split front end with
multiple back ends. When users log out of the database, the following
situation occurs.
User(s) log out
If One User In Database Then
Lock File Gone in < 1 Sec
Else
Lock File Persists Up to 30 Minutes!
Endif

This morning a lock file did persist for > 30 minutes, and no one could
start the database during that period of time.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

eg. How many backends? Where are they located? Where is the front-end
