Default Language problem - 12-20-2010 , 12:47 PM

We have the French version of Office 2010 Pro.

I connect to a ODBC link and it includes a field named 'RATE' (which
is the currency exchange rate). I use it in a query to get the local
extended price.

The problem is that Access imposes to translate it in French (taux)
and then asks what it is!

Of course, I refer to the field name with the table name before
[Purchase_Orders].[RATE].

I tried to rename it
RATE1:[Purchase_Orders].[RATE]

No matter what, I am prompted tio clarify what is
[Purchase_Orders].taux

I disactivated everything in the options that suggests 'automatic
correction'.

Any idea? (except ditching the French version which I would gladly do
if given the choice).

Hi Saintor1,

Rate is the name of a standard function in Access to calculate the
rate in an annuity.
So, change your fieldname to another name, e.g. Ex_rate.
