Default Functions not working - 08-05-2003 , 06:40 AM

I have a database that worked fine until the hard drive went tits up. I have a
new hard drive and have installed office 2000 (in Windows XP). All seems to be
well but a few functions are not understood. Date() does not work, which is a
pain as I use this as a default value evpression. Also acPrint will not work
in event proceedures. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall access and have
do a repair but these make no difference. Any Ideas??

Thanks in advance

Open a code module and use Tools, References on the menu bar.
If there are any missing (as I suspect there may be), they will have MISSING
in large letters next to it.
Make a note of the missing references, uncheck them, close, open and recheck
them then compile the project.

Nigel

Thanks for your help. This has indicated a missing active x control that I
will need to re install that I had downloaded from the access web. However it
has not helped me with the functions not working problem.

Date() will not work.
Left will not work either and there may be others I have not yet come accross.

It seems these are shared with Excel and they do not work in that application
either so I suspect there is an old DLL floating around the system somewhere,
no idea which one though!

This is common quesiton, and we get several of these a day.

You have a broken reference problem.
