I'm wanting to make a project tracking system to track an Access project I'm working on, and allow the clients real-time access to it, but the clients (being the distributors, not the users of the Access database) are mostly Mac users. I was trying to figure out if there's some free or very cheap file-based, multi-user database front/back end combination that works equally well with PC or MAC. The requirements for the system are really simple. Just one main table, and several lookup tables. |

If it is a small database I'd probably make it web-based, browser-accessible. I use a Mac at work and have no software that would compare to Access. It is insane that it is not available for MacOS. You can develop it in Access (somewhat limits your web server choice) or MySQL (just about any cheap web host will have support for that). It is fairly easy to port Access to MySQL.
