Default Date format for a mail merge - 10-22-2010 , 05:32 PM

I have setup and linked an Access query and a Word document.
In Access I have formated using Medium Date format 23-Oct-10 but after
importing I get 10/23/2010.
I have tried to search but I can not work out the formatting
instruction on importing.
The Field is <<EDate>>
Any ideas please

Cheers
Duncan

In query design, type an expression like this into the Field row:
Format([SomeField], "Medium Date")

This will create a text field, and Word should handle that correctly.
